  1. Three separate times in my life. Only once in the .mil. took a long time to quit having those dreams….

    1. More than that even, the style of artwork and lettering kind of reminds me of Doonesbury. Which is funny in way, since I doubt Trudeau would ever have given a positive portrayal of the .MIL.

  2. Had NO expectation of that!! THANK YOU so much for sharing that, BCE. And, like the other comment said… no weapon?! Does, indeed give one pause. Hope all is well with you (as well as can be). I seldom chime in, but follow you rather closely, none the less.

  3. i put my cat down last week.. the other night i heard a “thump thump”. the same sound i heard every day and night when my animal would jump down off my bed onto the floor to come down for meal time..

a minute later i heard it again in another room where it would sleep on a chair and jump down to the floor… i swear i see that cat out of the corner of my eye everywhere i go around the house and the yard…

    1. They’ll do that. I have one I put down a good 15 yrs or so ago that haunts my bedroom. I can’t even remember where I buried her on my property. But, I’ll feel it walking across my bed and laying at my feet at night. My wife and I have both seen it in the hallway. No malevolent feeling, either. Just a cat hanging out. I read somewhere that ghost cats keep bad spirits away. I’ll take it.

    2. My cat ‘Tiki’ died via an accident a few years ago… drowned in a wash culvert up the street. Sad AF actually.
Since then? The lil bastard is STILL on duty here at the casa… no hard, no foul… he’s just doing his duty.
It does spook out the pupper on occasion…

  4. Smokin’ the Marlboros — but I preferred Winstons much sophistication there. Hated it when I filled the Zippo with fluid and the shit leaked in my pocket and burned like shit. But smoking the sweet leaf kept it all in balance.

    1. Literally it was all a lifetime ago.
Not sure why, but I hardly even think about it anymore. Never volunteer the information, stay seated at events when they want to “honor those who served” and all that.
