  7. Thanks for the video Big Country. A good refresher. Having said that…

    I think he misses something. I think when things go really south, there will be two categories of looting opportunities that will last for weeks: an armed defender vs not armed. I’ve imagined being in a desperate situation before, but desperation won’t eliminate the priority of avoiding ballistic pain.

    The horde, however, will eventually overcome this.

    I also think a prepper who has plans for heads-on-pikes in the front yard will fare better. We’ll see.

  8. My 2 cents from living 70+ years on this rock. When things go pear shaped, the first ones to show up will be the Dindu’s and gib-me-dat’s. The moment they realize that law enforcement is overwhelmed and essentially non-existent, they will roam in packs. Not because they’re hungry, but because they CAN. it will be a target rich environment. You don’t have enough ammo.

      I’m oiling up my saddles and making sure they are in working order. I kept all my tack when I got rid of the horses several years ago – don’t have to feed tack. When hay prices get high, people start abandoning horses. Their loss, my gain – 2,000 lbs of meat on the hoof I can use for transportation and graze on the pasture behind me.

    2. Please forgive my ignorance, but why does a 20% reduction in supply mean *no* fuel? The world has had a 100% reduction in whale oil that supplied most lamps in the past.

        Complex systems and JUST in Time supply chains do poorly with just a bit of reduction in energy supply involved.

        American oil is selling their oil to the Highest Bidder at the tolerance of Trumps administration. I say Trump because HE could stop it in a single EO and let the courts scuffle over it as we don’t have that oil shipped to Europe and Asia.

        Please look up what the current and rising prices for diesel and fertilizer for American farmers. Plenty are going to need to get a “loan” from the US Taxpayer or their out of business.

        AND “Loans” always have payback involved. More debt for America (currently 130% of our Gross National Production) is well past Weimar Germany level of debt when hyperinflation destroyed them.

        Not looking good for my grandchildren.

  15. Buy more ammo. Like so many other folks, got a bad feeling this summer is going to be very interesting.

    1. Food, water and ability to repair your shelter as glass is the first thing lost in civil wars. It’s really nice to be able to cover your windows and repair that door or three.

      Ammo is nice but I cannot feed my grandkids 5.56mm.

      I’m too far out for walking Golden Horde but know too many multi-gun, massive ammo supply folks around that are ALREADY complaining they cannot afford Gasoline and Groceries.

      It’s not OPSEC or disinformation. They just spend more money on ammo instead of long term food storage and having gardens.

      They will be trouble when their kids are hungry.
