I started over from scratch as it;d been like 2+ years since the last game, and I’ll be damned as to where I really left off so I figured “this couldn’t hurt” until I got Sapper reminding me to eat….

But the Atari joystick was leaps and bounds over those shitty ‘paddle’ things. I’m still having issues with my thumbs some 45 years later. Either way, in the rankings, it was the Atari 2600, then Intellivision, followed byt he more expensive and rarer Colecovision. That one incorporated far superior graphis and a combo of the Atari joystick and Intellivision pad…
Best of both worlds if you will.
My personal favorite game was the Intellivision “B-17 Bomber” where you flew missions over WW2 Germany, and manned the various anti-aircraft gun positions. It had “Intellivoice” that was an add-on, which somehow got ‘lost’ before we got it on Christmas Day. Seems DeadDad had issues with the voice (a creepy high pitched electro-voice as I recall) and shitcanned the voice-part of the deck LOL.
Looking back, I really don’t blame him.

To include, I had a text conversation with J3, the reader who donated the Boat to me. He and I are frens, and as he stated today after getting caught up on my last two poasts, to include the one above, he quite succinctly stated:

How does one go about ‘fixing things’ when ALL of the other side LITERALLY is either fully in charge with the ‘Law’ on their side, and when the majority of the outraged are trapped by our responsibilities and dependants?
It’s the ultimate “Catch 22” as their ‘soldiers’, for the most part are made up of the mentally ill, brainwashed Leftoid college students who have NO IDEA how the real world operates. NO Responsibilities outside of themselves and what THEY need. Trust Fund Liberals, who’ve been coddled, bailed out, and ‘helicoptered’ with ZERO idea of what pays the bills, how the world ACTUALLY works and, to the Elites who’ve perpetrated this Evil on us, are ultimately disposable tools for them to use, and then shitcan after the fact.
The Zio-Marxism taught in colleges these days sell a great storyline, but in reality, the majority of those fools have (as I have so often said before) have NEVER been really punched in the fucking face, and it shows. In fact just metaphorically ‘punching back’ with mean words or harsh language is enough to trigger an emotional breakdown. As fragile as some of these snowflakes are in real life, it’s easy to see who the real ‘cannon fodder of the revolution’ are going to be.

In fact, judging from some of the latest news regarding the VA implementation of a new interim rule that would have reduced disability ratings for veterans whose conditions improved while on medication. It caused quite the ‘stir’ so to speak…
Meaning if they (the VA) is drugging you, and you can ‘function’ it means that your rating was going to be re-evaluated and more than likely reduced. This caused ALL sorts of outrage on the various intarhwhebz, especially on Twitter. One of the biggest problems was the implementation was to be done by a contracted company that was going to use AI to determine IF said-vet was to be reevaluated and or reduced.
It cause such an uproar that VA Secretary Doug Collins announced that the “Evaluative Rating: Impact of Medication” rule would not be enforced “at any time in the future”.
Mind you, it doesn’t mean that they won’t backdoor this bullshit later… Odds are they will. It’s just that this was rolled out at the same time as the VA rolled back a ‘red flag’ law that had previously been used to take away some vets 2nd Amendments rights… meaning IF you were being treated/seen for some conditions, the VA would “red flag” you, and you’d lose your weapons, and the right to get any more…
I find it interesting that they give guns back to the Vets they previously disarmed, and then roll out a plan that was gar-ron-damned-teed to piss off ALL the Vets out there…
I mean what could possibly go wrong?
Now, granted I’m a pretty big-time 2A absolutist.
HOWEVER
That being said… legitimately mentally ill people should NOT have access to weapons. It’s common fucking sense. From what I can tell, the VA made it a ‘blanket amnesty’ so to speak. Correct me if someone has intel to the contrary. Personally? I’d prefer it was done on a case-by-case basis.
I mean God Love ’em, but some of the Vets out there are full on fucking bananas in spades. And as I love all my VetBros/Sisters, SOME of them should NOT have access to weapons, period, end of story. My rationale is that do you hand a three year old a fully loaded locked and cocked Glock?

And unfortunately, some of our folks fall into that category of ‘doesn’t know any better/isn’t responsible or safe to do’ sort of thing. Hell… some Vets I know personally shouldn’t be allowed to fucking drive or operate heavy machinery, never mind letting them have access to weapons…

Almost like they want to goad Veterans into doing something stupid so they have the excuse to crack down on the very people they fear most… meaning highly trained not-under-their-direct-control trained killers. People like us scare the ever living shit out of them and for good reason.
We, for the most part have a set of skills that allow us to see and operate in a different way. Never mind the whole ‘trained to shoot bad guys in the fucking face’ thing… We also have a code, an ethos if you will.
American Soldiers are wired differently… be it a Squid on a Sub, to a Grunt on the Ground, we have a sense of HONOR that ALL of them lack, as well as a brotherhood/sisterhood that is so strong, it (for the most part) eliminates the things ‘they’ use as tools to normally divide us.
We all bleed “Army/Navy/Marine/Air Force ‘green’ ” so to speak. (A nominal color between all the forces, deal with it) We work and see BEYOND Race/Creed/Religion, and in many cases, even Sexuality. I served with a black guy who was so flaming he was hotter than the sun when off duty. But it didn’t matter to any of us, because he was ‘good people’ and carried his weight and hauled his gear without excuses or asking for, nor accepting special privileges.
Personally, I knew he was a great guy because my dog, who was an utter racist (he purely hated blaqs) LOVED him… he was the only black guy in the company Bomber liked. That was good enough for me.
Shit like that is intolerable to the Elites and their ilk.
We’re going to have to be dealt with (in their minds)
And that worries me.
The real ball breaker in this is some folks would have a few years ago thought my ‘tinfoil was too tight…’

BCE, HELL YEAH to the Intellivision, which totally smoked the Atari 2600. True, the controllers were shit for long-term play, but they were an innovative design at the time in being the very first to offer 16 discrete directions, versus 8 in all other conventional joysticks. Having the keypad for added functionality was a big improvement, too. You didn’t miss much with the Intellivoice. It was a novelty that didn’t really have much staying power, only 4 Intellivoice enabled games were ever officially made. Think there have been one or two other previously unreleased/incomplete games from back in the day that finally saw daylight in the last few years. So, that accessory was kind of a letdown.
Some years ago, in a fit of nostalgia, I scrounged up a Sears Super Video Arcade, which is just a repackaged Intellivision in even more delightfully late 1970s dress,nof creme colored plastic with burled walnut highlights, and detachable controllers. Otherwise functionally identical, and plays all the old Intellivision favorites. Fun to drag out now and again to play Triple Action Bi-Planes against my brother, and have even introduced my nieces and nephews to the old school vidya games. Sea Battle was another great game, and quite unique among home consoles.
Colecovision was sort of cool, but it’s crowning achievement (IMHO) was being the only console of it’s time to have a first rate, arcade accurate port of Donkey Kong. Nobody else could touch their version for years afterwards. The Commodore 64 probably did, but that wasn’t the same, since it was a full blown computer (with a price tag to match).
As to the state of our country, you’ve hit on something I’ve been trying to convey to people for a while: the very way society is structured (as goes being a productive person, and normal family formation) is an inherent weakness that leaves the decent and normal population at perpetual risk, as the subversives typically have no such incentives holding them back. Having a decent job, assets of real value (a home, vehicles, maybe a boat and cabin at the lake, etc.) and a spouse and kids one is responsible for, tends to discourage one from risking it all to go and kick the shit out of some juvenile asshole wankers who are screwing everything up. Said shitheads, meanwhile, are typically disposable (and those driving their behavior know this all too well) and so are easy to goad, since they have little or nothing of tangible value in their lives they are worried about losing.
So, they hit the street and create big problems, which is bad enough on its own. But once their type gets control of government, the bad guys now have the defacto backing of the machine, most importantly it’s cops and courts. Which means the bad guys get to operate with impunity, and we get fucked by the bad actors in the street, and then again by the government, should we get any ideas about being uppity and trying to combat their “unofficial” foot soldiers.
The only real defense against this sorry state of affairs is constant vigilance to ensure the institutions (education, arts/media, religion, corporations, and government itself) do not fall under the control of these giant assholes. Well, we have utterly failed at preventing that most intolerable state of affairs, and so here we are, faced with having to do it all the hard way yet again. Sonofabitch, anyway.

Imagine French and German soldiers playing soccer and singing Christmas carols in no-man’s land – they can’t have anyone finding commonality or even viewing each other is human. That scares the pants off of them. They made sure that never happened as WW1 devolved into a mindless and wasteful slaughter. Those soccer playing soldiers might have decided that they had no reason to fight each other but, plenty of reasons to fight the elites that put them there. Fun fact: the first UK firearms restriction came from a report to Parlement that indicated that returning soldiers might want to tell Parlement their feelings regarding the recent conflict and that restricting their arms would be good for self-preservation. I imagine a lot of .gov people have the same fear.

Spot on BC. It’s hard to imagine throwing away what you have built and the safety of your loved ones in order to do what you KNOW needs to be done. Sooner or later we may not have a choice. Interestingly I got an email ad from Palmetto State Armory that had a .50 cal bolt rifle for 2K. When I clicked on it for details, out of curiosity, they were all sold out. I also noticed that .50 cal API that I’ve seen on a couple ammo suppliers was sold out in a day or two. Seems like there are people out there who are thinking these may come in handy soon. If you like video games, one of the old systems may come in handy if the internet is down.

At 70+, I don’t have the arm and shoulder strength of my youth. I built a shorter, lighter upper for my rainy day/social services AR. Made it to the range yesterday to shoot it and zero the LPVO. Once zeroed, two different loads centered well inside a 2 inch circle at 50 yards.
