A Fundraiser That I Can Get Behind

Greetings and Salutations!
Sorry for another down day. I had a CAT Scan (w/contrast) on Wednesday and for whatever reason, the contrast made me ill. I’ve never had a negative reaction to it in the past, but for whatever reason, this time around I ended up with a mad skull splitting migraine and man…

I only just now got the taste out of my mouth. If you’ve ever had a CAT w/con, -sometimes- you can get a wee bit of a taste of it in the back of your throat… a gross medicine-y taste. This time it was all encompassing, which makes me wonder if it was too strong or the right ‘stuff’ in the bag when they I.V.’d me.

Either way if they did fuck up, I’m fucked as it’s the VA and no way to hit them with malpractice.

All of the recent MRIs and work I’m having done is for some potential carpal tunnel surgery. The nerves in both arms/hands and even my neck have been getting progressively worse, so I need to have something done sooner rather than later.

So two days of Ugh! and I’m back.

One of the things I watched on the YewToobs however caught my eye. Pissed me ALLLLL sort off too. Liberty Doll a guntoober of some repute posted a new one today that sent Ye Olde Blood Pressure into the red zone. Here it is in it’s entirity:

Oh yeah
That’ll do it.
Made me mad as fuck to watch and hear the bullshit excuses that they made up, and how they ultimately cleared the fucking trigger happy asshole cop who not only is a coward, but apparently completely incompetent.

Not for nothing, despite throwing at least 5 rounds at the dog, he only managed to get three in the target, all of which were non-fatal. The only other positive aspect to this travesty was thankfully due to his incompetence, at least he only wounded the mom, and didn’t put a round in the 4 year old little girl.

I couldn’t afford much, but I did donate $10 to the fundraiser. The link to that is HERE Seems the dog, despite the best efforts of the cowardly 2G swine survived catching 3 rounds, and has a lot of medical bills.

I cannot stand shit like this.
So I’ll throw it out there to y’all as every little bit helps.
Otherwise
Gretchen is spending the weekend up at her Mom and Dads place to get a little ‘headspace’ room for us. Things have been a wee bit tense lately, and yeah, it’s b/c of DC and her antics.

It is what it is I suppose.

So I’m going to get re-caught up on my working on the weapons. In particular the 2A1 Ishapore. BTW: To Reader Bill: I got the extractor and spring good sir! I’ll be working that into the bolt and sizing everything up as part of the fun this weekend. Again, I greatly appreciate donation and yep. It’s a goodly bit longer than the standard extractor. It’s going to be interesting to do the kitting out if that.

I also plan on getting a fresh gallon of the acetone to soak the ‘failed .45’ with the bogus hydrodip attempts. Get it back down to bare metal, and start over. So keep your eyes on it, I’ll be poasting pics and maybe even video over the next few. I’m also hoping to get some more recoil therapy in, provided that The Good Lord shines down on me, and keeps the weather tolerable.

So More Later

  1. Regarding your carpal tunnel pain:
In the 1960s word began to spread about the efficacy of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). It had remarkable pain relieving and injury repair abilities, and was cheap and available without a prescription. When the medical community saw that people were healing themselves with no need for doctors or hospitals they launched a campaign against its use. It became illegal in many states and gradually became less and less used and generally unknown. Today it is generally legal and available, but few are even aware of it. Watch this “60 Minutes” segment from ~1980 and see what you think.

  2. If they injected dye into your spinal canal, you may have lost some cerebral spinal fluid and that would cause horrible headaches. Just a thought.

    1. injecting dye or contrast into the spinal canal is very old school. CT and MRI have made that a thing of the past- a very good thing too!
depending on the contrast agent used, you can get a massive headache from it.
as for injecting into the spinal canal, I haven’t seen or heard of that being done since the 1990’s
and even back then it was a rare case.. CT and later on MRI have much better images and detail.
I think I did maybe 3-4 of them back in the 1980’s. but that was before we got a CT scanner.
but any real spine imaging today is done my either MRI or CT. it just better, faster and much safer for the patient.
as the above asshole “cop” yeah. chicken shit for sure. back in the 1980’s I lived on base. my old dog Jack was always getting loose- rabbits. he loved rabbits. anyway, after buying a couple of dress green pants for a few MPs, they found if they called him by name and held the back door open. he jumped right in. they, the MPs brought him back home. that bit used to “cost” me a few beers after their shift.
now jack was a good 80-90 pounds. a true pound hound mix. some lab and God only knows what else.
funny, how the MPs never thought to shoot him, they used that loop thing until they found out he would just ride in the back to come home. got to know a few MPs after a while.
more times than I can remember walking out the door and seeing grey fur all over the porch. I tell the wife, Jack doesn’t need his bowel this morning.

  3. OMG did that video cause me to almost stroke out. My blood pressure is still 300 over Made in Japan.

Please use the acetone outside and out of the sun, and tightly cover the container with aluminum foil to minimize evaporation (which is INCREDIBLY fast).

  4. About 10 years ago I had a serious cancer scare and they did the cat scan with contrast which was supposed to be 15 minutes and turned into 2 hours with multiple contrasts !!
I was so sick that I was dizzy and staggering when I walked out. I had to lean back in the seat in my car for a few hours until I felt well enough to drive. That stuff SUCKS.

Regarding DC, I know that YOU know but I don’t think Wifey accepts that DC is how she is and she is NEVER going to change !
My adoptive daughter is in her mid 20s and half as bad as DC but still she makes constant stupid ass decisions, won’t listen to me and has constant drama.
Latest was the girlfriend (she does the gay thing) who I told her was a POS, who got mad, called cops, lied and filed a felony domestic violence charge on my dumbass daughter.
That shit took a year to work out and thankfully lying girlfriend got caught in her lies and daughter got a mitigation package where after 6 months if she behaves charges dropped.

But after that fun she hooked up with a “trans man” (gay chick who thinks she’s a guy) she met in jail and daughter said that I must call her HIM and that’s going to be my son in law (who just happens to have t*ts and a p*ssy). Frankly while I love my daughter, I also love that she lives 1200 miles away from me.

This needs to be Wifey as well. I know DC is her kid and she’ll always love her but DC is a grown ass woman and it’s way past time she got her shit together. If she doesn’t it isn’t your issue and you all need to encourage her to move FAR away from you guys.

Just my 2 cents but brother I feel your pain on that.

  5. Contrast causes a metallic taste.
Also it can be hard on the kidneys so hopefully you hydrated afterwards.

    1. BC!!
Contrast is bad for one kidney folks. My mother in law has only one. She recently went through a spate of exams and contrast imaging for cancer. My wife made the various offices get together and coordinate their collective wants and needs. She was able to keep it down to two contrast events. Contrast, “whacks” Mom too, a couple days of recovery. The lone, soon to be 90 year old kidney is doing great!
Your usual “cleansing” routines should clear you out.

  6. Can’t really say anything about the DC situation that hasn’t already been said.

Figured recoil therapy would have been good “headspace” medicine, though. Maybe she just needs more? After a day of shooting, when I get home, I feel so relaxed, as if I had a full body massage.

  7. One kidney guy here.
Have had MRI’s/CT scans with contrast and as have 1 kidney drank a lot before the contrast and MRI, at least 1 litre before, and also close to 2 litres in the 16 hours after the MRI to flush the contrast out of the system. Also, kept fluids up in the 2 to 3 days post MRI.
MRI tech told me there are more than one type of contrast and to tell them if you have had issues previously so that they can pick a contrast dye that will have less of a hit on the body.

  8. Well, if that were my dog, the cop would be meeting his maker-if I had to lie in wait. What a POS. Per usual, the Top Sheriff is a 2G and so is the shooter. I hope that woman sues the shit out of Jacksonville. And as a reminder, stay away from that city. It sounds as dangerous as Chitcongo.
