AWOL and “Stuff”

Greetings and Salutations!
I know, I know…. been AWOL again…
What can I say?
Truth be told, I’ve been about ‘done in’ with the current day bullshit. I figured that maybe since the (s)election was over and done with, we might finally get a break from the wall-to-wall bullshitfestivus that had been going on.

More the fool sez I apparently.

So much so, it’s been hard to find the motivation to blegg. How bad you ask? It’s almost as bad as the whole “Christmas Music/Decorations before Halloween” even gets here thing we seem to have going on every year… It was what? a two? three? year run up to that pile of shit that was the (s)election?

Tell you what, if there was ONE. THING. I would positively beg that OrangeManBad do, it’s issuing an Executive Order that Not a Single Political Ad nor any mention of an Election be allowed to be on the news, in the papers, or put out there until 90 days BEFORE the -actual- election.

I dig that it’s the main ‘feeder’ for the news cycle but Oh My Gawd is it sooooo out of control. They’re already fucking talking about potential 2028 candidates.

Have any of these fuckers have no shame?

Of course we know the answer there.
Hence my somewhat extended absence.

I sort of feel like “Hawkeye” Pierce from M.A.S.H. towards the end of the series… It’s reported that Alan Alda, the guy who played Hawkeye was experiencing some serious ‘role-burnout’ and because of this, is why they ‘wrapped’ it like they did, with Hawkeye being taken to a nuthouse.

I’ve been feeling sort of the same way.

So I’m going to be poasting mostly weapons/tactics and the occasional observation of and about ‘stuff’ in the future. I’m done with a lot of the ‘current day thing’ and the blegging I hope will reflect that.

Let me know in the comments what YOU would like to see. I have to get caught up on some projects too, like a couple of you who asked me to check up on deceased WW2 relations and their service…. no, I haven’t forgotten… just me being overwhelmed per usual.

Otherwise, the fam is the fam. Addy is doing well… and the Baby Daddy and I chat on the regular. These are good things. I’m -still- trying to get him to relocate down here, as he does do roofing, and I’ve been trying to explain that here in Florida, a guy w/his skillsets can make enough $$$ in one ‘season’ that he’d be able to be off the rest of the year. Tennessee’s construction season is so short, he only gets work for like 4-5 months maybe out of the year, then the winter hits and that’s all she wrote.

Told him he and Addy can doss up here until he gets established. Win-Win in my book either way. He gets a full time babysitter (we don’t mind) Addy gets our influence and maybe the kid can finally get himself squared away in a decent job for once.

So that’s what I got.
How about Y’all?

  1. Well, since you asked … How about writing up BCE’s Guide to Not Messing Up Your AR?

You know … How you clean it (and using what), oil or grease (ditto), what spares to bother keeping, where you can cut costs and where you shouldn’t, what brands to trust, and so on.

Article or series, short or long, paragraph exposition or bullet points … I’d appreciate whatever.

Yes all that’s on the internet, if you can manage to sort through all the orthogonal if not outright contradictory crap. At this point, I would love a single point of reference. Just the time saved by having a signal:noise ratio greater than -30dB would be fantastic.

    Anyway, just a thought.

    1. I like Treefarmer’s idea about tactics.

Your experience and k owledge are so valuable, BCE.
And as a lady, there is a lot I would like to at least read about. Although the real-life tactical jobs are much better done by men!
(I belong in a supporting role, such as in the kitchen! Ha!)

Also– prepping topics would be great too.

Your summary about the “capsicum gone bad” experience, followed by a how-to-fix, was a great rel-life experience, with ways that we need to think about the issue and/or how to fix it.

We are all burned out from Polly-ticks, for sure.

  2. Did you need any more proof that it’s all Kabuki theater?
That being said, I do hope the current spread with Axe-men/women comes through and guts the beast to minimal levels. That should put a stop to much of what you complained about. Take the glamour out of the contest and it becomes real work, not bullshit high-dollar posing.

  3. I know the feeling of political burn out and I don’t write about it on the regular.

Politics has become some insufferable, toxic, insane, and critically: utterly inescapable for so long that a lot of people are just done. It is emotionally and mentally exhausting trying to parse the bullshit 24/7/365.

  4. I know the feeling… I can’t bear to listen to a lot of my favorite podcasts because they keep doing politics politics politics. I’m burned out on this shit… election over now you assholes do what you said you’ll do.

I hope they do, I really do but the cynic in me thinks they’ll do some token shit but then it’s back to business as usual in crooked DC.

Time will tell but I agree with others, write about shit that YOU’RE interested in.
Besides the military, gun and prepping stuff how about some video games ?
Me personally my favorite is Fallout76… it was slow when it came out 6 years ago but it has gotten way better. After a tough day at work burning up monsters with my cremator is better than a shrink. 🙂

    1. Jimmy, at least you found a non-destructive release from the stress of people and/at work. My inner behavioral therapist and psych nurse applauds that! No going postal with that. I haven’t worked in 18 years since I retired and I still blow tanks up in my old Tank game and take a spin with my first two Halo games I still have and run on my old 486 Dell 4500…

  5. More analysis on UKR and Middle East stuff: tactics, especially drone warfare evolution, and the other kind of stuff you are particularly good at noticing.

  6. Oh just bullshit about whatever strikes your fancy bro. We will read it irregardless. Good idea to get baby daddy to come down here to work in roofing. Besides the storm damage, insurance demands that roofs be replaced and within code every 15 years or so. Would help if he can speak Spanish. But then, he could supervise the beaners as they do the sweating.
