Greetings and Salutations!
We have a winner!
IF said winner allows I’ll name him here. I’m waiting on FFL Info for him. If you haven’t heard from me, I have to thank you for the entries, but y’all didn’t win this time. Maybe the next time around.
I’ve also asked that when the Winner gets said Rifle if’n he’d send me a pic of him with it, and maybe a review of it I’d appreciate it. I want a third-party outsider’s POV of shewtin’ one of these refurbs I’m doing.
Speaking of which, I’m still waiting on them damned brass screw pins to fix that broken stock. Until I get that/them I’m literally at a stand-still. Otherwise, I’ve just been worn out as of late.
Sapper’s son and Gran made it out safely on Wednesday. It’s then the whole ‘clean up the wreckage’ and the house overall as the place was/is a wreck. Finding lots of little piles of ‘stuff’ …water bottles, food wrappers and the like from where the kid hid his stuff rather than throwing it away… Not that it’s unusual… just unexpected.
Catching Chili with ‘things the puppy should NOT be chewing on’ like OUR Gran’s dolls/stuffies and such because Sapper’s Gran had taken them out, and not secured them… one of which I had to replace and THANK GOD for eBay… One of them which I -did not- catch on time was her favorite pink bunny rabbit stuffie.
By the time I caught her, the puppy had effectively blinded the poor thing by eating the eyes off of it. As well as the majority of it’s face. And it’s an older model… hence why finding it on eBay was a key factor… ‘gently used’ was a plus and $19 w/free shipping? Yeah… express that fucker to me ASAP. It got here and she was thankfully unaware of “Ye Olde Switcheroo”
Thank the Good Lord for smol favors Aye?
Hence why I’ve been exhausted.
As of late, I’ve been in full on “nonstop running around putting out fucking fires” mode. Like “hair-on-fucking-fire” running around. Plus working full time at People’s Glorious Tractor Factory, which thankfully, we’re in the between-season lull which has allowed me some flexibility with getting minor issues handled around here.
Tomorrow I have to dig out the lawn mower to get the jungle under control… the HOA went from hitting me with a violation for “bare spots” on the lawn” to “Yer shit is overgrown and looks like Vietnam!”
“Make up yer fookin’ mind!” said Steven the Irishman.
Amen to that.
We were going to do it early this AM< however, since we haven’t had any rain for the past few weeks, of COURSE the morning I have yardwork to do, it rained like a MoFo…
So anyways, it’s time to get into the groove and issue a bit of a red flag warning I’m seeing.
Tonight there’s an article on the Daily Fail, BritLand’s premier bird cage liner. I know they consider it a tabloid, and because of the amount of celebutard stuff they cover, I’m inclined to agree.
HOWEVER
One thing about it is they have a hell of a lot of real stories that get barely a mention here in OUR Ministries of Lies and Propaganda which allow an analyst like myself to get a better idea of what’s happening by the LACK of news here on our side. If they run it, and there’s absolutely ZERO mention of it here, well, I’ll cross reference it, and if I get two or more confirmations, it means whatever is happening, well… if OUR asshole Enemedia aren’t talking about it, it probably means that they don’t want to spook the Sheepole.
So hence we got this:

This’s the guy that the movie “The Big Short” was based on back in 2008 for predicting the big 07/08 stock wipeout. He made $800 MILLION during that timeframe. Currently, his holdings are this:

As the cool kids say “follow the money”
Twitter is blowing up all over the place about this too… That’s enough for me to take notice as this being a potentially significant problem/warning.
And since I don’t have a pot to piss in, well… most of us don’t, what -I- take from this is home-boi is positioning himself to make a LOT of dinero when the market takes a gigantic shit all over again.
In the extremely near future is my guess.
Add on that Warren Buffett’s moves as of late?
I’m barely cognizant of shit in the market, HOWEVER my training, experiences and ability to see patterns tells me things are getting a wee bit ‘squirrelly’ in the market. Hell… my Ex-FIL and Uncle In Law never forgave me for calling the dot-com bubble busting back 3 months before it actually happened. I told them flat the fuck out to get out of the market ASAP if they were smart…
They looked at me like I was retarded, as I was only a recently medically retired grunt with ZERO market experience/education nor any investing experience… I can’t blame them per se from their POV…
All I had was some data points that screamed at me that the ‘dot com’ “Thing” was about to take a shit… one of the biggest warnings to me was the IPO for “Doctor Koop Dot Com”…
When drkoop.com went public at $9 per share in 1999, the company raised $88.5 million and was ranked as the top health care content site on the internet. Former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop founded the website during the height of the Dot Com bubble, and a partnership with AOL soon had the stock trading at an all-time high of $45.75 per share.
In 1999, drkoop.com reported about 1.4 million unique visitors per month. When the Dot Com bubble burst, drkoop.com was one of its many victims. Investors were skeptical of health care websites that relied on advertising revenue. Drkoop.com reported tens of millions of losses per quarter throughout 2000. The company declared bankruptcy in December 2001, less than three years after its IPO.
finance.yahoo.com
When I heard about the whole ‘drkoop dot com’ thing, I was like yeaaaah…. “there’s yer sign…”
My reasoning for this was I at the time was working one of my first post-DotMil jobs at a “Bricks-to-Clicks” company that was making websites for companies… like BIG companies… HUUUUGE ones… and the business model, from an insider’s point of view was fucked…
I mean it was bad-bad…
I was working for a company that was essentially selling webpages that an experienced basement dwelling troll with mad HTML skills could put together, and that the majority of these dot-com websites were doomed ultimately to fail. Hell… my own company was a prime example of heady dot-com excess… pizza and beer every. single. Friday Afternoon for ALL staff… elaborate parties… top end office furniture… like ALL of us had Hermann-Miller Aeron chairs ($1200 a throw, and I still have mine, and you bet your ass when I got laid off I stole that fucker…) I mean they rented out the ENTIRE Roxy in Boston for the corporate Halloween party with open bar ALL NIGHT!
So yeah, I got laid off by the end of 2000.
Good experiences, and good friends, but damn if it wasn’t a fucking circus the whole time. I knew that the dot-com ‘thing’ was going to blow up. I tried to tell the ILs but hey, what did I know?
I was right of course.
Sort of like when I see a dude who made $800 mil the last go-around shorting shit hard and other ‘things’ telling me that things are about to go weird? Well… When The Going Gets Weird, the Weird Turn Pro… (thank Dr. Hunter S. for that quote).
So I’m going long in MOR ammo and canned goods, as well as MREs. The MRE’s being still exceptionally cheap considering the normal price… Link HERE

I’m beginning to wonder if this isn’t intentional in a way
As in ‘they’ (without knowing who ‘they’ may be) don’t or can’t come right out and say “Hey y’all, the shit is most def aboot to hit the oscillation device, so best you get yourself prepped ASAP as food is going to be an issue sooner, rather than later!”
Since that’s not allowed, I think they’re dumping soooooomany MREs that even normies are buying them. The r/MRE board has been questioning it hard as to the rationale and logistics behind it as well… Seeing that the majority of these were manufactured as the war was winding down 4+ years ago, there shouldn’t be this much surplus available, as if there’s ONE THING to DotMil normally gets right is food logistics… call it the ‘food actuarial tables’…. “X” amount of troops DotMil wide, with “Y” amount of possible field time equals “Z” projected MRE needs”
This’s literally unheard of.
I mean never have I seen TWO cases for $76 w/free shipping. Hell, when I was on Active duty, a case at the commissary (if you didn’t have a ‘hookup’ with supply to get you some) a case of MREs ran $50 a throw per case. That was in 1996!!!!!!!
Mayhaps a “down low” Civil Defense thing???
Hard to say these days.
I know I just ordered ANOTHER Set of Cases and will be getting ANOTHER Set of Cases on Friday of this coming week on payday. The next stop is CostCo for a recharge on Paper Towels and Toilet Paper. Believe it or not, and I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but we’re finally getting to the bottom of the COVID Stockpile I laid in back in 2020.
When that shit started, Sapper and I dropped about $400 on Charmin and Bounty. The BIIIIG Honking Packs… That was before anyone had an idea that this was going to become a ‘thing’. To a point we actually had to send out care packages to the Parental Units as they didn’t have a back up to their normal stockpile when the retardation went into “Ludicrous Stupid”. We actually had to box up and mail shitpaper and paper towels. To be honest, that’s when it went from “Ludicrous” to “Plaid”…
So make of it what you will.
That’s what I got tonight.
More Later
Big Country

Dude! Thanks for the link to the cheep MRE’s! You’re right about the price. I was paying at least $50 a case back in SoCal.
Your previohttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B08N1NDDRS?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_titleus MRE link is still good here:

Mussed up link. Should be this:

Or they are dumping the MRE’s so that they won’t be available when things go bad.
1) Good headsup on the MREs. Git em while you can , folks.
Just FYI BC, on your travels to east TN, you can (well, USED to be able to) stop off at the SOPAKCO plant in Greeneville and pick up their overage MREs at a very good discount. Its on your way. 2)You need to find a way to fuck with the HOA. A friend killed all his grass and planted the entire lawn in rare wildflowers and defied them to say anything about it. Just use your imagination and read the rules carefully. The answer is in there, you just have to find it.
3) I know its Clockwork Orange, but I’m curious why you put a picture of a faggot at the top of your blog? Its not a vibe I’d recommend.
Re bullet point three, yeah, that dude is a bit unsettling, even though I kind of get the rationale (I think). I do miss the old camo mast-head, and the long running opener ” greetings me droogs and droogettes…”. Those had been a long running trademark prior to hosting the blog here on DM’s server, so not sure why they got shitcanned. Might be a good time to install the retro edition skin on this blog, BC. Just sayin’.
Thanks for the reminder and link. Forgot it last time. Ordered 2
Don’t get too wound up about this guy selling short. Turns out he’s been wrong a little bit more than he’s been right. So he’s basically a break even
I got some of those mre’s on your last go round. Not opened them yet.
I am well stocked on most stuff, since wife started carnivore diet I am having to really start checking best by dates on the canned goods. All the dry goods are vacuum sealed with dissecant pacs.
I am also quite set on ammo, although you can never have enough.
I am finally going to break down and get an ar. Now that Hi Point has started making them.
I think everyone should be ready to be self sufficient for at least 6 months on food and water.
If you want to go inexpensive on an AR go with Palmetto State Armory
$450 – $500 on the low end.

Don’t forget AR Magazines

Your MRE’s appear to be a great way to go. We’d been paying like 130/150 per case of Mountain house cases 6 #10 cans to a case.
Those same cases are now like 400/500 dollars! Fuck that.
We’ve recently cleaned out about 70 cases of #10 can cases of beans meats fruits and veggies, after 12/14 years on the shelf. Just lost its taste. Sadly another 70/80 cases of the same need to be disposed off.
We like the “ Real Food” for the calorie count. I need to review a couple of the five gallon buckets in storage for QA. We’re thinking we need to do another round of marathon five gallon bucket building. Have roughly 100 plus buckets left but need Mylar inner bags.
We tried an experiment, 600 pound’s of rice/ wheat in original bags, for dry storage. Got seven maybe eight years of shelf life out of it.
I’m tired of prepping,I’m tired of re-spending money every ten to twelve years. Im older and building buckets and stacking cases kills my back. Lifting everything up into the semi trailers fucking hurts.
Yet I know if my wife and I don’t continue to prep our kids our grand kids will pay the price. That’s not expectable.
I can see fifty cases of MRE’s in my near future, I suppose its time to look at one of those dehydrators to build our own freeze dried foods.
My wife’s headed to Spain then Portugal where she will meet up with her Norwegian aunts and uncles. Then on to the Azores her Norwegian family members are concerned about WWIII, her oldest uncle who’s like 300 fought in WWII, they’ve been invited to the wilds of Oregon if things break bad.
The cousins and us are all pushing 70, the aunts and uncles are upper 80s. All are tougher n a woodpeckers lips, they cross country ski all winter and ride bicycles to town to workin the warm season. Admire them greatly.

Rendezvous at my place Brother although it might be further to his place from my location than yours…
Skip the dehydrator and get yourself a freeze dryer. That’s the route I would go if we had space for it (you don’t want it in the main kitchen, from what I’ve read – space, air flow, odor). We have a dehydrator – new in the box – out in the garage (no space in our tiny kitchen/house). That can be useful for fruits, veggies, and making jerky, but not much else. (Yes, I know some people use it for eggs; I wouldn’t.) We also have a pressure canner and jars (also new in the box and in the garage), for a future emergency. We don’t like the taste/texture of pressure-canned food. Mistakenly thought I had some fresh asparagus in the fridge today, found I was wrong so I opened a can. Even though I dressed it up with butter, garlic, salt and pepper, it was still smelly mush.
In the meantime, buy freeze-dried meats (both raw and cooked) from Freeze Dry Wholesalers. Pricey (and the beef just went up big time) but you can easily get dry/canned veggies and/or put in a garden. But you want protein (and fat) to get the biggest bang for your calories.
I’ll pass on the MREs for now. My experiences with them during my Army Reserve summer camps in the 1980’s were not good. The freeze-dried peaches smelled like pee and the TVP “barbequed beef” was like chewing on flavored cardboard. I much preferred the C-rats when I was on active duty, 69-71, especially the ham&eggs. Since my tribe and I are blessed with a large basement, the once-a-month runs to COSTCO and WINCO over in Little Portland are where we stock up on canned goods.
Does anyone here have any experience with the 4Patriots folks or Auguson Farms? Just asking. Bleib ubrig, my friends.
yeah. not a fan of MRE either. of the few I tried back in the 1980’s tasted like crap.
C-rats where better I thought. that said, I do have some mountain house food stashed away.
but I go long on canned foods. even came up with some meals using canned chicken that turned out
well. I have some room, so I try to keep a few months worth of “stuff” on hand.
what I worry about, is all of the people who have less than a week worth of food on hand.
you know the ones that say I just shoot a deer if need be. well, even with all of the state game land around here, there just not enough game in the woods to feed everyone.
but they do have a lot of ‘toys” like jet skis and ATVs and other things. not much in the way of food though.
people get nasty when they and their kids are starving. in the end is going to come down to the have’s and have not’s. you might have enough to feed you and your family for a year. but if the mob gets it or hears of it, it will not last a week. if that long.
just something you might want to think about.

That’s why I’ve been banging on the Build Community/Tribe drum for the last 15 years because you are going to need Friends with hard hearts if you and yours are going to survive…
that might be the reason why my neighbors are so nice to me ? then too it might be that I give them ammo for helping with things I can’t do myself anymore. this old age shit sucks, bigtime.
then too, I helped them with some things/tools I have on hand.
things like this work the best when it is a two way street. and I have been telling them that bad times are coming here sooner than we would like. BTW, there are a LOT of vets in this area too.
most are ex combat arms guys too. that helps a lot. they listen and are doing things a lot like I have done. as they saw, “have seen the light”
lol, D the W, man I get it, every year at AT, at Camp Robert’s or Hunter Leggett, I’d eat those MRE’s one day, I swear I didn’t cramp for the rest of the Two week AT training cycle.
Hoping “ God has stepped in to solve that poop thing. But then I was never able to finish the paper work with that mini micro toilet paper roll within mre package. Guess not crapping was a blessing!
Dirk
Dweez,
Yup, the old MCI, (Meal, Combat , Individual) was a better meal, ate them for 4 yrs in the early 1970’s as a grunt and Recon Marine (my favorite was also the Ham and Eggs, many despised them, but they came with pineapple bits). Joined the reserves in 1980 and in 1981 we got our first new MRE’s, most of us were not impressed in the least.
However, over the years I’ve continued to eat them and aside from the hideous vegan meals, they’re not too bad today.
I just ordered 2 cases last week to keep some meals in my off-road vehicle from a Ft. Carson area surplus store, also a great deal.
https://www.venturesurplus.com/products/army-case-of-12-meals-ready-to-eat-army-surplus-mres/
Mein freund: Good to hear from you. I will check out that site. As I type this, it is 06/02/2025, 1106 hours. Time is getting short. The Bear is very angry. Bleib ubrig.
Nix the surplus MRE’s, I just realized Amzn sells 2 cases for same as 1 case of the surplus store.
Ja, alles geht jetzt zu scheisse.
DTW,
Regarding the Auguson Farms stuff…
BLUF:
1. Taste: not bad at all. Better than some of the camping food I’ve had.
2. Portion size: their portion size is tiny. Whatever their advertised number of portions is on the outside of the bucket go ahead and cut that in half, or by 2/3s if you’re being really conservative.
3. Bring additional food to bulk up the soup mixes.
4. Packaging. This was my main complaint. Instead of having a pouch with 2-4 servings in it, all 8 serving came in a single, non-resealable white plastic bags. Or did back then, I have no idea if they’ve changed it since back in the day. So you either make 8 servings of the same thing & eat it all at once or you supply your own resealable packaging to avoid the wastage/spillage that we encountered.
5. Just eating from the Auguson bucket, after 2 full days of mostly moderate but some heavy labor we were wiped out.
6. At least 1/3 of the bucket was empty space so there is room to store additional items like a bag of rice, pouches of jerky, etc. in there.
Recommendation: Buy double what you think you’ll need and still plan of supplementing with additional food. It’s probably a fine product if you aren’t in a circumstance that requires a lot of moderate-to-heavy manual labor.
Longer version:
Some years back I helped an old prepper buddy with a week’s labor at a rural property, clearing brush & trees, repairing fence line kind of stuff on a chunk of raw land. We figured we’d put a couple of the Auguson buckets to the test and live off of ‘em while we were up there busting our asses. Long story short, after two days we were both wiped out & didn’t have a lick of energy left between us. Not from the work, as we were both early and mid 30’s active duty and in good shape, or from the living conditions as we were both active hikers/campers/kayakers at the time, but from the food. On day three we made a run into the nearest town & hit the grocery store for regular canned food & stopped at the store deli for fresh sandwiches. Ate the sandwiches on the drive back & ate canned food the remaining 3 1/2 days we were there, no more issues with energy or productivity. We left with around half of the 90-odd serving bucket remaining after 6 meals for two people, so 12 meals total used roughly 40 of the manufacturers serving size. I suspect that, while it will keep you alive, the product isn’t particularly nutrient dense.
Just curious, what ended up being wrong with Sapper’s truck ?
Current price of a case of brand new MRE’s in the FT Carson commissary as of last Wednesday was $193/case!!!!!
No explanation from manager as to why either……
I agree that Burry isn’t the best analyst. I think he mostly got lucky on his big short. Warren Buffet, however, has a long record that has made him and his company prosperous. He has pretty much sold out of the market because he knows a downturn is coming and isn’t worried about timing. At this point it is the retail investor and those who try to cut it close that will get fleeced (again). I’m as ready as I can be, just hope society doesn’t get too stupid this time around.
Any thoughts on this drone attack by UKR? Scary delivery method deep inside Rus. How many shipping containers in US…. https://www.zerohedge.com/military/ukrainian-drone-swarm-attacks-hit-russian-long-range-bombers
I wouldn’t push much faith in what Burry says unless you are investing. Yes he makes money at that but he’s called for a bigger collapse than 2008 a couple times and he’s been wrong. As far as the no rain for several weeks in central Florida we got all of in in Central Alabama. It rained damn near every day in April and May.
In my house, with the kids/grandkids, that was a chance for a ‘teaching moment’. “You didn’t put your stuff away, it got destroyed. That happens.”
Yeah, I’m an asshole. They learn, though.
Years ago, the oldest was still on a bottle, and she threw it out the car window on a mountain road. Guess what? She was no longer on the bottle (it was about time, anyway, & that was a great excuse).
Here is one of my Dot Com Interweb stories for no particular reason;
I started at an internet company in 1994 and was getting decent money for a change, but it was nothing like this hippie chick who worked there from day 1 of the founding. She was employee #5 or so, and since she started with the company when it existed on someone’s kitchen table, she was loaded with fully vested stock options in her weekly check but was only making minimum wage for the state of Massachusetts. This was the typical new startup employee compensation scheme that allowed the company to grow without a big payroll. The stock options were something like 3 Cents a share and she was granted a hundred or so each pay period.
This hygiene challenged dingbat was hired as some sort of clerical admin, but moved on to a true do nothing role of planning company parties and the annual outing. She had her own office with nothing but beanbag chairs where she often had after work orgies with the other smelly hippies, ick!
Anyhow, she was worth 4 or 5 million bucks on paper with her fully vested stock options and had the bank account of a Mcdonalds employee with her regular earning. Still lived at home with her mother too. When the crash started and the stock went from $175 a share down to nothing she was warned repeatedly to cash at least some of it out. Nope, she was a true believer in the company and the business geniuses who ran it into the ground and cashed themselves out. She never redeemed a single share and ended up canned in the first round of layoffs since she did absolutely nothing you could call work. 7 years of her time and 5 million dollars went right through her hands. At least she still had her mother’s roof over her head at the tender age of 30.
