1. Thanks everyone for the MRE links yesterday.
   They would only let me buy 2 cases of the MREs from the Zon and I bought some freeze dried food as well. I’m also like BCE going to stock up on tp and paper towels.
   As an aside, I live in Florida and when a hurricane is coming people buy up all of the milk, bread and toilet paper ? Doesn’t make a damn bit of sense but it is what it is.

   I like most of you don’t know what’s coming BUT where 6 months ago there were tons of ships in the ports, there aren’t that many now and most warehouses in the US have a 90 day supply at most.
   There is going to be trouble and shortages this Summer and how are all of those on the government dole going to react when there are no potato chips, sodas and junk food for them to get with their EBT cards ?
   Also with Buffet and this guy bailing on the market, the market is MASSIVELY overdue for a correction and that’s coming.

2. sat in on a lecture on EMPs at CGSC in the mid 1980’s. at that time, the Gov’t said we as a whole had about 30-40 days worth of food on hand. that includes EVERYTHING. stores, warehouses, farms and livestock in the fields and even ships in port. everything. and medical supplies is even worse off.
   about 20-30 days at BEST. and most of that is now imported too. once the warehouse is empty, we fucked if the ships don’t come in.
   they ( the Gov’t) figured about 1/3 to 1/2 of the people would die off inside of 6 months.
   they also said that there is not enough troops/cops/state police to handle the mobs that will happen.

15. I got a baaaaad feeling about this one, Sarge!

    Figured it for the MAF sensor. Those things are a bane to the combustion engine. Get a can of cleaner from your local friendly auto parts store and clean it per the instructions. Inspect the plug for broken or bent pins and check for loose or broken wires. A clean air filter and pcv valve also helps mitigate MAF sensor problems. Look for any oil residue in the air box in case blowby has been gunking things up. I got REAL familiar with that thing after putting in a K&N air filter – the oil from the filter would foul the MAF sensor. When you are in the high rockies in SW Colorado and that silly thing starts sucking wind on the side of a 1,000 ft. drop off…well, I guess it’s better than being in rush hour traffic.

    If you suspect a fuel pump problem, there’s a Schrader valve off the fuel rail where you can check fuel pressure. No pressure tester? I used to press the valve in and if gas squirted out, it was under pressure. No gas squirted out? Got problems back up the line. It’s not precise, but it’ll get you into the neighborhood of the problem.

    1. Get 2 K&N filters. Swap them out and the newly cleaned oiled filter sits in a plastic bag for a few months. Won’t spit oil.

Ukraine then attacked the ethnic Russians in their territory and built up their military for years (paid for and supplied by Nato) with an eye on attacking Russia.
       Russia said over and over that allowing the Ukraine into Nato is an “existential threat” and they cannot allow that or them to join the EU.

       Zelensky backed by Nato told Russia to pound sand. Right after the war started Ukraine and Russia had a peace deal worked out in Istanbul and Boris Johnson and the Biden administration scuttled it and Zelensky refused to negotiate until recently when prodded by Trump.

       There is so much more but honestly Russia has gone out of it’s way not to have civilian casualties or destroy Ukrainian infrastructure. For example, why didn’t Russia drop every bridge over the Dnieper river day one ? Why not level all airports, trains, power plants, flatten Kiev ?
       The truth is Putin is a moderate in Russia, there are hardliners in Russia that if they got into power would level Ukraine. Ukrainians should thank God that their assassination attempt on Putin failed 2 weeks ago.

       Please research all of this and turn off the liars on mainstream media especially retired Generals who are being paid to lie. Also Russia is NOT the Soviet Union, so deep six any Cold War BS in your mind. Totally different situation.

17. While MAF sensors (and other parts) are available at a big discount on Amazon, you’re finding out why: they’re trash. They’re either QC rejects, or outright junk and the manufacturer knows it’s too expensive and time consuming to ship back for a replacement (which will also be crap quality). Hell, half of the “OEM” parts online are counterfeit. You’re better off finding a used one at a Pick ‘n’ Pull, or sucking it up and buying a new one from a dealer.

    Yes, I share your distrust of many mechanics, too. I try to do as much work on my vehicles as I can, and I’d rather spend the money on a new tool than an hour or two of a mechanic’s time.

At this point I think they figure they’ll just have to take all of Ukraine and if that means killing most of the population, so be it.     1. I watch a LOT of war-porn drone videos (both sides of the U/R conflict). I have seen several types, there are the ones, primarily Rus, where you can see the characteristic brown cone of an RPG warhead under the camera view. There are usually a horizontal and a vertical coils of copper wire out front, that is probably the detonator. Lately, instead of two loops of wire there are more. I have seen some drone prep videos and the warhead looks to be a 3D print in the shape of an RPG, maybe saves weight. The shaped charge does the work. Then there are the ones that hover over the target and drop something. The accuracy is impressive. I wonder what the charges are since the detonations often are pretty big. There is often a strike drone and a “spotter” to get the BDA video. The Baba Yaga six rotor drones (UKR) have pretty heavy lift. Range is increasing whether through “repeater” drones up high or other means. UKR supposedly used a Russian cell phone network on this latest thing. They fly down roads two feet off the ground. It goes on and on.

27. On Sapper’s truck – the auto parts industry has only been getting worse over the past 5 years. It can take weeks or months to get an OEM part, and they’re often bad right out of the box. QC no longer exists. Most people don’t realize how bad it’s gotten.

       I don’t know if you have seen the Car Wizard on Youtube but he has an auto repair shop.

       He says that his #1 problem these days is finding replacement parts for the vehicles he’s repairing.
       Ten years ago he rarely had problems finding parts and now he has a dedicated person at his shop to just track down parts. He said even then half the time the “new” part is crap and doesn’t work.

       It’s gotten so bad that he said that he no longer works on most vehicles made before 2000 because he just can’t get parts to fix them.
