Greetings and Salutations!
Whew…. the weekend was great… somber, but great. Lots of folks to remember… lots of ‘recent losses’ too. I got word not one, but two of my bros cashed in recently, one being my roommate from Germany…
A tough weekend.
That being said Monday we -did- have a good time.
We went to this bowling/vidya game/pool place that was NOT Dave and Busters… the name eludes me for the moment… The Redhead had a blast,

…and was really pissed that I beat her (out of five of us playing) by one point…
Lord knows I was trying to lose…
I’m a shitty bowler anyways… it was purely luck that I spared on the final throw… I won, 75 to her 74 and everyone else was just sucking behind the two of us…

GiGi consoled her.
So otherwise, I’m still waiting on my stock screws to come in before I can resume the Lee Enfield work. Those went from ‘currently in stock’ to ‘backordered’ which irks me a wee bit. They were in stock when I ordered them, but I’m unsure if it was me who nulled them out? Either way I’ll pick that up later when I can.
Then, well… I’ve been off my news following as of late.
Just too much bullshit out there.
It grinds you down after a while. The only issue I had was Sapper’s truck shit the bed again today, except while -I- was driving it. Same exact issue. I can’t remember if I had told you what the resolution was supposedly, which now I question deeply as the breakdown was IDENTICAL to the original breakdown… >SPUTTER!<>SPUTTER!<>SPUTTER!< (Engine Dies, Unable to Restart). The original issue was Mickey Fuckign Rat had ate up a bunch of ‘stuff’.
Now? Not sure. What really pissed me off was that I had taken an early break from Glorious People’s Tractor Factory to go grab ( and yeah, I know… pure goyslop) a Mickey D’s Steak Bagel sammich… while enroute, the truck died while pulling into the parking lot.
I had to get out and push that heavy fucker on my own out of the lane and onto the curb. It’s nice to know I still have the ability to do such heavy pushing/lifting despite my rather lazy lifestyle as of late.
I then spent two hours waiting for the tow.
Sweating my ass off.
No AC in Ye Olde Deade Truckage donchaknow?
After the tow, well
THEN I had a mile to walk home from the repair shop.
Good exercise that I desperately needed, but OMG… 92 degrees dressed in all black? When I finally got back to the Casa, when I removed my gear to hop in the shower, the shorts and tee ‘splashed’ when they hit the tile floor. I looked like I had just climbed out of the pool…
A cold shower never felt so good.
Had me some flashbacks to similar circumstances after a hard day in Iraq in the desert heat… a cold shower after being oh-so-hawt feels good man…
Sapper of course is less than thrilled.
We’ll have to see what comes of it.
His son and his Gran are headed out early in the AM. Safe travels to them both. It’s been a good visit all around.
So More Later
Big Country

I think that place is called Strike, or a least a replica of it in Miami is called that.
Hope everything goes your way for a change
Hit me up if there’s anything I can do to help BC
Looks like it MIGHT be “Winner’s Family Kitchen”

A Ford truck?
Certain years have wires coated in snacks for squirrels.
AKA plants crave Brawndo.
I remember that, my cousin lost his truck to that . Burned up sitting at a red light.
on the truck problem, check for a bad ground. there are about a dozen or more on Toyotas
one drove me nuts for a while on my old 89 4runner until it was found.
I wired wheeled a lot of screws and a few bolts before “fixing” that damn problem.
weld thru primer seem to help with the rust problem around the screws. or it did for me anyway.
since you guys had it “fixed” I check around where they where working first.
this is where a shop manual helps a lot. EFI can be a pain to say the least.
If you’re into military memoirs, check out the james jamieson book An Armourers Tale. https://www.jamesjamieson.co.uk/
A VERY Interesting read! Appreciate the heads up!
I had a couple vehicles that happened to. It was usually the fuel pump and/or the fuel pressure regulator. Sometimes, there’s an oddball fuel filter inline that someone put in, even though the fuel filter is normally on the fuel pump in the tank.
Mass airflow sensor crapping out or getting dirty will also do that to you. Get a bottle of Mass Airflow cleaner and pull it off and follow the instructions on the can for cleaning. Not a very expensive remedy, unless it’s the MAF sensor that crapped out completely. At least they are (usually) easy to get to.
Now, I’m no mechanic and I’ve never played one on TV. However; I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express a few times.
BC having some problems with Yahoo mail at this time. hope to get it fixed sometime today.
anyway, I put a C- note on the raffle. not that I ever win any of the hundreds I have entered over the years !
anyway, one of the big problems with old age is seeing your old friends pass on.
never easy, but something we all have to live with.
Your little gremlin is adorable. Keep up the good work “grams & gramps”, it all pays off downstream.
