Greetings and Salutations!
Man… today was a good day, but also a bit trying. The Dooney’s cutting a few molars… at least one that broke thru on the lower right. And he’s not shy about letting us know. The frozen facecloth(s) have been in play allll day, as well as regular doses of the toofus-meds.

Poor lil guy.

Spent the day doing mission prep for the various gigs I have lined up. Medical, the Last Will and Testicals gets done (notarized) tomorrow… Dooney essentially gets everything<\/strong> with Sapper as the Exec. Sapper ALSO gets all the guns, leastways until Dooney gets to be competent\/of age\/safely trained.

Which under my tutelage will be by the time he’s six.

He was a bit scared, but when he fired it (with the help of myself and his Uncle Paul) he broke into a fit of giggles. We may not be on speaking terms any longer, but he does<\/strong> or at least did<\/strong> have a pretty good start on his weapons collection, in no small amount of thanks to me…

Dooney actually HAS his first rifle, courtesy of a gift from Borepatch<\/a>. He had a Ruger 10\/77 .22 that he had laying around. It’s got the synthetic stock, and I scraped up a picatinny rail (I have like 20 of them, for various platforms laying about) as well as a el-cheapo airsoft\/.22 scope (3x-9×40) for it, so now I have to zero it. It’s a great learning rifle, and as soon as he can hold it, it’ll be in the curriculum.

Other than that…
It seems EVERYONE<\/strong> in the Press Corps went batshit to find out that they’d been involuntarily put on “Decoy Patrol” by OrangeRetardManBad when he did the ‘bait and switch’ in Turkey a ways back. Personally, I LOL’d pretty hard. Never have so many deserved so little respect than ANY and ALL of the National\/Notional Enemedia\/Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’d been 24-7 for at least<\/span><\/strong> two months of how ‘stunning and brave’ the members of the Enemedia that died were… what a huge loss<\/strong> it was and all that other hyperbolic bullshit martyrs that they’d turn the dead into. Even in the ‘worst of times’ during Iraq, as far as -I-<\/strong> had heard, there were never<\/strong> this many ISSUES (all caps intentionally) on board one of our big Boats… I mean the last MAJOR time something went sideways on one of our carriers was back in the early 70’s… “The Kitty Hawk Race Riots”<\/a>

It shows just how biased<\/em> things are in that article where, boiled down to a TL;DR is that the eeeee-vil Whytte Sailors ganged up, and threw a beat down on a bunch of blaq sailors who dindu nuffin. The article makes it sound like gangs of Marines were out acting like Klansmen, looking to bust nigger heads…

It wasn’t like the Whyttes decided one day, in a Combat Zone, to up and start beating down an bunch of brothas for no good reason… and that the Marines thought that it was a good idea to get in on it, and go “Full Klan Mode” on said aforementioned brothas…

If -I- had to hazard a guess?
I’d say that at that time, the whole “Black Power” brotherhood was in full effect. Any bets they were irritating the fuck out of their fellow sailors, and slacking off on the job? Shit like that in a small unit is as corrosive as battery acid… it wouldn’t take much to get shit started… and my guess is that the blaqs started something that they very quickly realized<\/strong> they were in no position to end<\/span><\/strong>.

Hence the story we get today.
Either way, I’m not concerned.

I’d say that between the bad harvest we have coming up, the lack of awareness regarding it, and the potential for famine?

I mean as my conversation with G-Mom and her Daughter, G’s BFF (our former neighbors) the other day? We saw them as the lawyer that we had to see for the Dooney’s paperwork was int he same town they moved to, so we stopped in to see them. I told them that while WE (the US itself) may not<\/em> go into full on famine, what is going to happen is food prices are going to go “full retard”. Meaning that that flat of canned corn? Right now it’s a buck a can… call it 10 for a Ten Spot.

Next Spring?
Might be double… as in 5 for $10.
$2.00 a throw, whereas right now? A buck a can…

I mean beef has already<\/strong> gone insane by my standards… hence my debate on a new Xtra-Large Freezer, and a half-a cow… I mean G loves her ribeyes, and me my ribs, nevermind the Dooney… If my projections are correct, we’re going to see some serious food issues come up by June\/July of next year.

Nevermind the diesel and fertilizer issues…
