It took me until NOW to get into the site.

Ok a busy day. First off, Comments.
1986
My Sophomore year in High School.
When the Challenger went UP and became scattered pieces-parts. The reason I’m so intimately aware of it was I was from New Hampshire. It was a really big deal<\/strong> that Christa McAuliffe was the “Teacher in Space”. To the point that for back then, there were TVs broadcasting the entirety of the launch from start to ignominious finish alllll over good ole Winnacunnet High School… (be me: Class of 1988, same as that lesbian thundercunt current People’s Socialist Republic of Taxachusetts ‘Governor’ Maura Healy, but you won’t find THAT in her ‘of-fish-al’ biography). “Fish” being the key part of that last bit… mean girl extraordinaire. I wouldn’t piss on her to put her out if she was writhing around on fire at my feet…

Anyways…

So it was like a holiday when Christa went up. Little known nor spoken of fact was her husband was a BIG contributor\/contractor in the FedGov, and the ‘fix’ was in… I learned that from MomUnit who’d ALSO put in for it at the time as she too was a 6rth grade teacher from NH. We found out later that the fix was in, and essentially McAuliffe’s husband sent her to her death unknowingly… gotta sorta hate it for the guy airight?

So yeah… It was like a holiday in school… all classes wandering around, watching and such whatnot… all the way up until the grand Ka-Boomy-BOOM!

I look back now at MY reaction versus my classmates.
THEY reacted like the future NPCs and drones that they were.
Stunned.
Speechless.
Horrified.
All the ‘normal’ reactions (in theory).

My reaction?
Hysterical Laughter.
Even back then, I had an extreme<\/em> sense of absurdity. Meaning that to me? The entire concept was just perfect<\/strong><\/em> for such a disaster to unfold.
All the hype.
All the expectations.
All the hope.<\/strong>

Only to see it dashed on the ‘rocks of reality’ if you will.

To be honest, maybe I was cracked… leastways when they hustled me off to the guidance counselors who tried to square peg me into a round hole… I couldn’t stop laughing though at the utter hilarity of the absurdity of the time…

I mean what the fuck did they expect?

They sent me home with a note to the parental units that I might need professional ‘trauma care’.

Pfffft…

I just saw reality through the gimlet eye that I’d developed due to the insincerity and callousness of the school when it came to the utter shitty treatment and bullying I had suffered under for OH so long.

So anyways, that’s MY personal “Challenger” story, as grim as it is… I DO feel bad for them poor fuckers who were on board… little known fact: the folks on the upper decks unfortunately lived<\/strong> thru the explosion. My Best Fren at the time, a southern dude named Dirk had a cousin who was a Coastie Rescue Swimmer… who happened to be one of the guys who was on call that day…

He visited about 6 months after the fact, and I got to meet him.

This was 1986
PTSD wasn’t a ‘thing’ then.

Seem he and another guy were the ones to dive on the cockpit section. There were two levels… the bottom? Everyone was smooshed to paste by the fuel tank detonating… pushed the floor of the orbitor into the roof, squishing everyone…

The top floor?
Well it seems that they lived… just long enough to die on impact at 200mph plus, or from drowning. Dirk’s cousin didn’t go into details. Poor bastard’s face told me all I needed to know…

So anyways
On to more interesting news.
So… we lost 3 F-15s in the first week of this shitshow due to a traitorous Iranian Sympathizing Major who shot down those 3 aforementioned aircraft. Now what I find fascinating<\/strong> is that the aircrew photos and videos show after<\/strong> the shoot down in the recovery phase?

No one was wearing US Flags.
In fact NONE of them had any identifying nationality.
EXCEPT
The uniforms themselves?
They were Israeli air crew uniforms.

Got me a hunch that the Kuwaiti Major decided it was one thing<\/strong> for the US to launch strikes on Iran out of Kuwait, but was ANOTHER entirely different kettle of gevelt fish to allow Izzies to fly out of Kuwait….

Then today?
We lost an F-15, one crewmember recovered
We also lost an A-10… how the fuck that happened<\/strong> is a mindscrambler as an A-10? I mean Jesus Christo!!! Those things are unkillable. I mean on April 7, 2003, Capt. Kim “Killer Chick” (great callsign BTW!!!) Campbell took a direct hit from an Iraqi ADA missile… She landed the A-10 after what should have been a catastrophic incident:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bitch got bigger balls than most.
She went to ‘manual’ on the plane to bring it home, because her Hydraulics were blown the fuck out. She literally muscled<\/strong> that pig back to base, and landed. The damage got totaled after: “After landing, ground crews discovered that her A-10 had sustained damage to one engine and to the redundant hydraulic systems, disabling the flight controls, landing gear and brakes, and horizontal stabilizer. A detailed inspection revealed hundreds of holes from extensive flak damage to the airframe, and that large sections of the stabilizer and hydraulic controls were missing.”

Like I said and evidenced, those things are like flying “Tonka Trucks” if you will like all us Gen X kids had…

Currently, there’s no word on the pilot dammit…

Then, there’s footage out there of what’s obviously<\/strong> a Blackhawk in -some- configuration falling from the sky on fire somewhere in Iraq.<\/strong> No so good… If that was a recovery bird, it had a crew of 5 plus depending on mission… meaning it probably had<\/em> a Pilot, Copilot, Crew Chief, Door Gunner and Medic\/Air Rescue Recovery\/Pararescue dude… Possibly 5+ KIA ‘cos a Blackhawk on fire, falling from the sky?

It used to be my worst nightmare to get hit, at height on a “Crash-Hawk” There ain’t no walking away from that sort of shit…
