Whelp, let’s see.
Something outside<\/strong> of the normal redpill\/blackpill news cycle was the VERY interesting about 4 dudes getting shwacked by the Cuban Coasties. Seems the story is that a US Registered speedboat, with 10 dudes on board, were intercepted by the Cuban Coast Guard about a mile off the coast of Cuba:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, initially<\/em> it looked like<\/em> this was going to be ‘played’ by the Administration for a regime change in Cuba. I mean I can understand why, since Venezuela and Maduro got their collective ticket ‘punched’ so to speak…

HOWEVER
As the story has come out, it seems that the guys involved?

Now, not for nothing, it’s an idea that I can get behind to a certain degree<\/em>. BUT in reality? This one is a puzzler. To a point I want to say this has “Company Fingerprints” all over it, a’la The Bay of Pigs fuckup. 10 guys, apparently heavily armed, try to infiltrate Cuba, only to get intercepted by the Cuban Coasties.

From the reports it sounds<\/em> like the US Cubans shot first, and wounded a guy on the Coastie boat, at which point the Cuban-Cubans went ‘full covenant’ and lit the fuck out of the US Cubans. The lopsided nature of the engagement I’m going to say that has to do with training…

Shooting from a boat at -another boat- is a really hard thing to do<\/em> in reality. The bobbing\/weaving\/waves and such make it really fucking hard to put bullets on target<\/strong><\/em>. From the absolute lopsided count, US Cubans KIA 4, and Cuban-Cubans 1 WIA tells me that the C-Cs knew how to deal and didn’t fuck around, whereas the US-Cs (shortened all around for brevity) were NOT prepared for an engagement.

There’s a term for it… catenary? or something like that? The SEAL teams practice shit like that, which gave great results<\/strong> like that Captain Richard Phillips situation where 3 SEAL snipers simultaneously waxed 3 skinnies (Somalis) from the deck of the USS Bainbridge.

So yeah… seems that as the story has evolved (and noticeably started to fade per usual) that the relatives of a few of the US-Cs were\/are HARDCORE anti-communist.

Just what the fuck 10 guys thought<\/strong> they were going to do remains to be seen. I mean IF they were professionals and IF they had the proper backing THEN I might be more inclined to think this was a Company Op… The problem is it feels like<\/em> fucking amatuer hour, and those surviving six dudes might WISH they had gotten smoked with their buds…

I got a new addition to the BCE Museum of Mayhem. It’s a new-ish tool that wasn’t around back in the day. It’s an IPOCK or Individual Point-Of-Capture Kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This apparently is a field kit meant to be issued to folks that may be in the position to capture a “bad guy” The kit is light, and very functional as I can see. It measures about 12inches wide, by 12 inches +\/- tall, and weighs about a pound and a half. The one I have has ALL of the components, and I’ll show them as we go here. The back of the bag comes with a carry strap, as well as a pile of MOLLE and two snap-connectors (at the top)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one I have is in almost “new\/unissued” condition, which I’m pleased with. The top, when opened, reveals two zippers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When unzipped, the whole kit ‘butterflies’ open to show all the tools available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not overly<\/em> packed but enough gear to ‘hem up’ a single bad guy.
It comes with a card that lays out what should<\/em> be in it. That’s the safety wired card at the top:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, as it states, it’s got two sets of flex-cuffs, the restraint cutter, a blindfold, as well as ‘hearing deprivation’ AKA earplugs. All of them I have on the left ‘wing’ of the kit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The right ‘wing’ has the notepad, pen and sharpie, as well as the 2x pair of nitrile gloves for handling the nasty funky body of said-now-detained motherfucker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘center console’ pouch is where I put ALL the evidence bags… as well as the seals that go along with it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was made by the gang at Mystery Ranch, a high end<\/strong> gear producer. Now, I have NO IDEA if these were ever used, or put into place… I know<\/strong> for sure they weren’t in MY times living in the various Shooting Galleries we didn’t have anything like these.

We made due with regular zip strips and\/or 100mph tape IF there was even a Bad Guy to capture. Myself? I was never involved in such operations, so again, no idea. But having had frens who DID do shit like snatch and grabs? They mostly, like I said, relied on the stuff I mentioned before.

So I hope y’all enjoyed this. It’s a cool and rather unique piece of militaria to add to the Museum IMO.
