I got there at 0730.  I got &#8216;checked in at 0801.  I then <strong>waited 2.5 hours<\/strong>.<br><br>My number got called, and I went back.  <br>The Shaniquasaurus that was the employee?<br>Well, besides her being a fucking &#8220;DEI special&#8221; I knew there was going to be an issue when I saw it was wearing a mask, as well as gloves as if we were still fully balls-deep in the COVID retardation.  Just from that ALONE I knew I was fucked.  I handed her my paperwork bundle, only for her to GLEEFULLY hand it back and tell me &#8220;Dat ain&#8217;t filled out right!  Y&#8217;all needs to fill it out on da front, not de back!&#8221;<br><br>It seems both J3 and I had done the transfer on the back, and missed the one on the front.  Now I&#8217;ve had the same issue before, and <strong>usually<\/strong> said DMV person would give it back to me, tell me to hand-jam it and boom.  All set.<br><br>Not teh Shaniquasaurus.<br><br>Oh no&#8230; she got&#8217;s to put whyttee in his place donchoo know?<br><br>Fucking cunt tells me to go get it redone, <strong>and come back on Monday.<\/strong>  <br>FUCK THAT NOISE!<br><br>So&#8230; I ran home and had Sapper do the J3 side of things as I had NO IDEA if the Shaniquasaurus was going to put notes in, as she DID put the info into the computer, and had it earmarked for Monday.  Right after Sapper did his thing, I then went to Plant City DMV where, after getting there at 11, I FINALLY got my shit done at 15:00.<br><br>Of course this time included me having to get a manager involved as it was patently obvious that the DMVdummies were for whatever reason studiously AVOIDING doing titles\/tags\/and registrations&#8230; it appeared they were doing the &#8216;quick and easy one-and-done&#8217; stuff judging from the volume.  I called it out to the manager at 14:45 and by some miracle, &#8220;all of a sudden&#8221; me and like 4 other who&#8217;d all been commiserating (and plotting to kill all of them) together -suddenly- got called up.<br><br>Now granted, Y&#8217;all have been telling me to keep it &#8220;Gray Man&#8221; and well&#8230; I have to say, my plans pretty much preclude that outcome.  In order for this thing to be the vehicle I <strong>need<\/strong> for whatever upcoming weirdness may be coming, I <strong>need<\/strong> it to be &#8216;combat ready&#8217;.  This means a Ram-Guard on the front, steel reinforcement as needed, as well as a roof-basket to hold at least 2x spare rims and tires, plus other necessities I learned in Iraq that are <strong>absolutely crucial<\/strong>.<br><br>Those ALONE are going to make this thing stand out a wee bit more than usual.  So I went with one sop to my ego:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"293\" height=\"149\" src=\"https:\/\/bigcountryexpat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/army.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6613\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Fuck it&#8230;<br>Why not?<br><br>I didn&#8217;t get the paratrooper plate nor the Iraq\/Afghanistan plate either&#8230;  and I don&#8217;t rate the DV (Disabled Vet) plate <strong>yet<\/strong>.  You have to be 100% for that, and that&#8217;s a work in progress.  Either way, since it was payday, I threw ALL the ducats at the cost and got the plate and registration good thru November of 2027.  Cost an extra $120 but well worth the not-having-to-give-a-fuck about it for the next 2 years and what? 5? 6? months?  All told tho, it was still pricey AF.<br><br>SO yeah&#8230; now after this long sad tale of Woe and Such-Whatnot, I give you a smol guest Article from a regular Poaster, SemperFido.  It&#8217;s some good info on canning at home using a GREAT idea that even -I- hadn&#8217;t considered&#8230;  SO without further bitching on my part:<br><br><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ALTERANTIVE CANNING 101 with SEMPERFIDO<\/span><\/strong><br>&#8220;Back in 15 when the wife and I were concerned that the Hilderbeast was going to steal the election, the wife and I started taking food storage seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">We created a garden, started canning and gathered canned goods and other items for &#8220;just in case&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">One of the problems we have encountered is that commercial canned fruits tend to go bad and leak all over the place after a few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">So we needed a better way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Buying freeze dried food is nice but Holy Sheeeet is pricey. We stopped at Aldi&#8217;s and picked up dried strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, M&amp;Ms, cheese fish crackers and a pouch meal of chicken flavored rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">All told, about 25 bucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The dried fruit, cashews, and other dry non oily things so far have lasted 10 years and taste fine. We are replacing things we have eaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Oily nuts, especially peanuts and crackers will last about five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Certain types of cookies will go 6-8 years. M&amp;Ms, raisins and cereals appear to be indestructible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Now, not all these things are all that healthy. But both her and I have gone through times when we didn&#8217;t have enough to eat and when you do eat it can be the same thing for weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Those unhealthy snacks can brighten your mood and give extra calories when you need to keep moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">We have MREs and stored food. These things are life enhancers. And cheap and easy to piecemeal into a healthy amount of yummies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Ol&#8217; Remus (RIP) used a vacuum sealer to make mason jars full of tobacco with a package of rolling papers and a pack of matches included to use for barter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Just thought I&#8217;d share the idea with ya&#8217;ll.&#8221;<br><br>So&#8230; many Thanks to my dood for the awesome article!
